I knew Mike from Band at Garner Middle School, yes we both played the drums. When we went to MacArthur I joined swimming and Mike went on to Band. Also saw Mike in Adviosory (remember that so call period). One of the most nices guy I ever new. Mike only had kind words to say about people.
Found out about Mike passing and was trying to get ahold of his sister Amy when his mother Sallie Spalding 93 yrs old, answered the phone. She told me that I made her day just being able to share memories of Mike. I was saying such nice things about her son, she stoped me, and ask "Did I raise him right" I told her "Yes Ma'am". We talk of his father which was retired military and how his dad took Mike hunting.
She currently has Mikes ashes at her home and confimed that there is no obituary. We talk about how she love to garden and since she had a fallen she could not garden anymore. She was very kind and gracious to me, I don't think I will every forget that phone call.
